Many new arrivals in and out of the store this month. Plenty in the way of fraternal, medical, and presidential souvenirs.

Many people have been asking about “the weird heads” that have been coming through the shop, so we decided to pacify your curious mind on the subject of THE HEAD OF GOLIATH. These paper mache heads were typically created in the early years of the 20th century. Often, but not always, manufactured by companies throughout the United States that specialized in fraternal lodge ceremonial objects: from aprons and signage to painted backdrops and other props. These effigies were often hand-painted and complete with real human hair. The heads were used in a biblical re-enactment of the killing of Goliath, the Philistine warrior, by David in the first ceremony known as The Degree Of Friendship.
